Do you like working with kids outside? Lettuce Link is looking for volunteers to help with our kids' gardening and nutrition classes this summer. Students plant their own gardens, cook healthy snacks, and learn about soil, plant parts, ecosystems and more. We are seeking volunteers to assist in teaching classes, engage with students, and share their enthusiasm for healthy eating and gardening.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Ability to attend the volunteer orientation and commit to coming regularly to at least 8 of the 10 classes
- Some experience working with kids
- Energetic and like to eat vegetables!
- Ability to pass a Washington State Patrol background check
Marra Farm: Tuesdays, June 28th-August 30th, 9:30-11:30amWe are looking for 1-4 dedicated, thoughtful, reliable volunteers for each of our garden education sessions working with children. In order to ensure the best serve the children in our program, we will be holding short volunteer interviews to determine how your interests and skills might best fit with our program. Let us know if you want to work with more than one class.
Elementary age kids from the South Park Community Center Day Camp. Approximately 20 kids come at a time, alternating weeks (grades K-2 and 3-5). We also partner with Cooking Matters, who teach healthy cooking and nutrition, while Lettuce Link provides the gardening education.

Marra Farm: Wednesdays, June 29th – August 31st, 10am-12pm
Kids come from the YMCA Discovery Day Camp at Concord Elementary in South Park. Approximately 20 kids come each week in grades K-2.
Volunteer Orientation: June 22nd 10:30-11:30am at Marra Farm
Seattle Community Farm: Wednesdays, June 29th-August 31st, 9:30am-12pm
Students from the Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club. Approximately 25 kids in grades 2 and 3. Preference given to volunteers who live in SE Seattle.
Volunteer Orientation: June 22nd 10:00-11:00am at the Seattle Community Farm
