Are you passionate about food security, gleaning, garden education and community building? Come join the Lettuce Link team through the Rotary First Harvest's Harvest Against Hunger AmeriCorps*VISTA positions.
Lettuce Link AmeriCorps*VISTA Harvest Coordinator
This position will build the volunteer capacity for local gleaning projects and produce donations for Seattle area food banks and meal programs, working with the Community Fruit Tree Harvest and the P-Patch Giving Gardens. For a full position description, click here.
Lettuce Link AmeriCorps*VISTA Farm Harvest Coordinator
The position involves working in collaboration with local community groups to develop the new Seattle Community Farm in the Rainier Vista neighborhood. This includes developing systems, support for and events that directly engage community members to participate at the farm. The VISTA will assist with general farming and help promote food security and backyard gardening through outreach events, garden education, and other projects. These AmeriCorps*VISTA positions are for 12 months, starting in November 2010. Volunteers receive a living stipend, education award at completion of service, student loan deferment, health benefits and childcare assistance.
