New blog: Apple Corps!

Apple Corps, a team of nine Americorps service members based out of Solid Ground, works to address the root causes of hunger and other health inequities in under-served communities. Through placement at schools, community organizations, and government agencies, Apple Corps members aim to improve access to nutritious food, physical activity, and health resources-- guided by visions of social, racial, and environmental justice. Amelia, one of Lettuce Link's Americorps members, is part of this cohort.

Apple Corps recently launched a blog, and it's pretty fabulous! We encourage you to take a peek. The most recent entry is written by Heidi Evans, who organizes nutrition and wellness activities with 80 homebound seniors through the grocery delivery program Partners in Caring. She does a whole lot more, too- read more here!

Service terms last from Sept-July or Oct-Aug, so stay tuned if you're interested in applying for a position next year. Remember, though, that Americorps funding is at risk-- please consider contacting your Senators today to save service in America.
