Volunteer Opportunity: Teach Garden & Nutrition Education at Marra Farm

Do you like working with kids outside? Lettuce Link is looking for volunteers to help with our gardening and nutrition class for 5th grade students at Marra Farm this spring. Students from Concord Elementary come with their class to plant their own gardens, cook healthy snacks, and learn about soil, plant parts, ecosystems and more. We are seeking volunteers to assist in teaching classes, engage with students, and share their enthusiasm for healthy eating and gardening. A good fit if you're energetic, have experience working with kids, and like to cook and eat vegetables! Volunteers need to commit to come regularly and must pass a Washington State Patrol background check.

Classes run from on Wednesday afternoons from 12:30-3:00, April 6 – June 8 (with a couple weeks off for spring break and standardized testing). Marra Farm is located in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood, at 9026 4th Ave S, 98108.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, please download a volunteer application and return to Robin at lettucelink@solid-ground.org.
